What is ETcCalc? ETcCalc is a web application designed to provide information on ETc, effective rainfall, and irrigation needs of a number of crops grown in different counties in South Carolina. The system uses available historical weather records to estimate daily and seasonal ETc using the FAO-56 single crop coefficient method. A daily soil water balance is used to estimate effective rainfall and irrigation needs. The system has been designed as a user-friendly platform to allow users (farmers, crop consultants, county extension agents, etc) to do side-by-side comparisons of ETc and irrigation needs of different cropping options (such as different planting days, crops, locations, etc.). Simulation results are presented in easy-to-understand graphical and tabular outputs.
